The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland said an Extreme Heat Warning and Heat Advisory were issued for hot conditions from Sunday, June 14 through Tuesday, June 16, 2026. NWS said the advisory now includes the coast starting on Sunday.

NWS said daytime temperatures are expected to range from 92°F to 100°F, with overnight lows from 63°F to 67°F. The conditions are expected to impact the majority of the Willamette Valley during that period.

NWS said the Extreme Heat Warning applies to the Greater Portland-Vancouver Metro, Western Columbia River Gorge, and Chehalem Mountains. The Heat Advisory applies to all locations except the Cascades, Greater Portland-Vancouver, and Western Columbia River Gorge.

NWS urged people to prepare for the heat by:

• Having sunscreen and wearing light-colored, loose-fitted clothing
• Avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day when possible
• Finding locations with air conditioning
• Beware of cold water shock and wearing a life jacket when swimming in local rivers and lakes
