Vancouver police investigate two gunshot incidents
Vancouver Police responded to two reports of gunshots in June 2026, including incidents with shell casings found near playgrounds and damage to nearby buildings and vehicles. No gunshot-related injuries were reported in the first incident, but a 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot in the leg.

NWS Issues Extreme Heat Watch for Portland Area
The National Weather Service in Portland issued an Extreme Heat Watch from Monday, June 22, through Tuesday, June 23. Forecasters expect daytime temperatures from 95°F to 100°F and overnight lows from 62°F to 67°F in parts of the region.
