**Former Clark College President Bob Knight Passes Away at 67**

Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, announced with sadness the passing of Bob Knight, who served as the college’s president from 2007 to 2019. Knight was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel. He was 67 years old.

During his tenure at Clark College, Knight oversaw a period of significant growth for the institution. However, he was most notable for his personal leadership style, marked by frequent interactions with students, faculty, and staff. Walking around campus and connecting with members of the college community brought him great joy. Knight also coined the term "Penguin Nation" to describe the college’s community spirit, a legacy that continues to resonate.

The Clark County community is mourning Knight's passing and sharing memories of his lasting impact. Clark College recognized his dedication and contributions to the institution, noting that he would always be a vital part of the college's history.

Friends, family, and members of the college community are encouraged to honor Bob Knight’s memory and keep his loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time. Memories of his life and work have been featured in a recent article in *The Columbian*: [Read More](https://www.columbian.com/news/2024/dec/16/bob-knight-former-clark-college-president-and-u-s-army-lieutenant-colonel-dies-at-67/).
