Smoke Alarms Essential for Fire Safety Awareness
Staff Report / Vancouverlocal.org
October is recognized as Fire Prevention Month, and the Vancouver Fire Department in Washington is emphasizing the importance of smoke alarms in saving lives. The department advises residents to test their smoke alarms regularly to ensure they are functioning properly.
It is recommended to use smoke alarms with 10-year batteries or to replace the batteries every six months. Additionally, residents should be aware that smoke alarms have a lifespan of 10 years from the manufacture date, after which they need to be replaced.
Public awareness about the benefits and proper maintenance of smoke alarms is crucial in promoting safety within the community.
