Proposition 4 Seeks Police Services Levy Approval
Staff Report / Vancouverlocal.org
On the November 5 General Election ballot, Proposition 4 proposes a levy for police services in Vancouver. The measure aims to address a significant rise in public safety needs, with a reported 30% increase in call volume for police services and an 87% increase in reported crimes since 2018, attributed to community growth.
If voters approve Proposition 4, it will allow for the addition of up to 80 sworn officer positions and 36 non-sworn staff to enhance police and public safety services in the city.
